WE CELEBRATED THE LIBRARY WEEK WITH FESTIVE ACTIVITIES 29.03.2016

We celebrated the Library Week between March 23-30. The celebrations were festive and varied, from visual workshops to author workshops, competitions and games. The students designed and displayed visuals about the books they read. In line with the “Library Came Alive” activities, Grade 2 students acted out stories to the ELC students in costumes. Grade 1 students celebrated reading with the “Spider Wb” activity. Grades 3, 4 and 5 students joined the workshop of the authors Hacer Kılcıoğlu, Habib Bektaş and Arslan Sayman to discuss their books. They also pointed out the positive and negative attributes of superheroes with their display titled “Are Heroes Always Good?”. In addition to designing bookmarks, Grade 6 students displayed their research findings about supernatural phenomena in the “Mysteries” section. Grade 7 students held a drama event of the book they read “Frozen in Time”, as well as creating visuals. They also visited Paper and Book Arts Museum and created brochures after the visit. Grade 8 students prepared a display about the Nobel Prize Winner Authors. They also found slogans and created book covers for the famous book Don Quixote. They also designed posters for the book they read “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas”. All second language classes created and displayed visuals about the languages they have been learning. Grades 9, 10, 11 and the prep. Class have designed dioramas about various topics and books they have been studying including The Great Gatsby, 47 Ronin and 1984. At the end of the week, our teachers raced against each other in the “Teachers Competing” event, where they were asked questions in literature and library.
