WE ARE PROUD OF OUR GRADUATES 10.06.2019

Ata Sunucu, who graduated from our school in 2015, has made us very proud with his performance in his undergraduate education in the Department of Comparative Literature, Faculty of World Languages and Literatures, Boston University. Throughout his education in Boston University, he studied on several languages such as Turkish, English, German and French. After carrying out a research project on Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem and impressionist painting with UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) funding in his third year in Boston University, Ata has applied to get a master’s degree with the article he published at the end of the project. He wrote his thesis on the contradictory language and identities in Bilge Karasu’s novels and completed his undergraduate education with an honorary degree. His 4.0 GPA also allowed him to graduate from BU with “Summa Cum Laude” (Latin Honors). During his undergraduate education, Ata started an academic journal called “Alexandria”, which allowed undergraduate students to publish their articles, and formed a successful editor team to realize this project. He also received Alice M. Brennan Humanities Award given by Boston University Center for the Humanities after being nominated by his own department. He was awarded with the WLL College Prize as a result of his successful work in the department, and the Peebles Book Prize for his studies on German. Ata will maintain his academic studies next fall and start studying in UC Berkeley in September 2019. Congratulations to Ata and wish him a continued success!
