SKYPE INTERVIEW WITH A MEMBER OF UK PARLIAMENT 14.02.2020

As part of our DP Global Politics lesson Year 1 DP students had a Skype interview with a Member of Parliament in the UK, Miriam Cates. The students asked the MP questions about topics related to their studies such as Brexit and state sovereignty, the implications of Brexit for immigration, Northern Ireland and Scotland as well as how she got involved in politics and what is like being a woman in politics. Her responses gave the students a unique insight into how politics works and broadened their perspective by hearing about key political issues from someone who is actively involved in them. We appreciate the time Miriam gave up out of her busy schedule and feel like the experience has enriched our understanding and engagement with global politics.
