SERVICE-ACTION PROJECT: SUSTAINABLE SAVING 08.11.2022

The "Sustainable Savings" Service-Action Project, which has been carried out by the High School Mathematics Department for a year to create a conscious school community that takes steps towards the climate crisis, met with high school students. 46 high school students took part in the project, which contributed to the goal of "Sustainable Management and Use of Natural Resources", one of the UN Development Goals. Within the scope of the project, the students, who examined the electricity, water, and paper consumption amounts at Işıkkent Anatolian High School, determined the areas where savings could be made and presented their solution suggestions to the management. High school students working in groups supplemented their reports with statistical information. Demonstrating the short and long-term benefits of action plans with striking data, the project team has been working to create a more sustainable school environment since last year. Thanks to the action plan put into practice, our students save in many areas. They shared the project process with the other stakeholders of the school during the assembly they carried out. We congratulate all our students who took part in the project and their mentor teachers, Tuba Bozdemir Şenol and Cemre Pehlivan, for their devoted.
