ONLINE ACTIVITIES TO CELEBRATE THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM DAY 21.05.2021

In 2012, the educators in London created the “Empty Classroom Day” and started a theme to carry the education outside and enable students to spend time in nature. First, this movement has affected the schools in the city; then, it has become a global movement entitled “Outdoor Classroom Day”, which is celebrated every year on May 20. On Outdoor Classroom Day, which is a global movement to inspire and celebrate outdoor play and learning, various activities about nature are shared with learners with the participation of different educators, game experts and NGOs and thousands of classrooms around the world are carried outside for outdoor lessons and games as play is the primary pastime of children and adults. On May 20, we listed a range of activities for children and adults who do not/can not spend time in nature, touch/step on the mud deliberately, notice the sounds of birds and sit under the trees. We had a discussion about nature in Chemistry class with group of Grade 9 students, noticed the natural beauties outside the window, spent fun time playing outdoor games and shared experiences about making a weather forecast and planting flowers. After watching a presentation about the types and features of plastics, we gained greater awareness of the nature through games on ecology and environment.
