MOVING UP TO THE HIGH SCHOOL 16.06.2022

Grade 8 students read Stefan Zweig’s “Chess” in their Turkish lessons this year and developed analysis, text production, and presentation skills. Then, they wrote a graduation text and decorated the stage with inspiration from the book. They understood that chess was more than a game and the most essential thing in life was not the result but the process. Also, they realized that passion, perseverance, and determination were required to achieve success. Finally, they presented the graduation text they created by combining their experiences in MS with the inferences based on the book and expressed that being a team member without dwelling on your role is what matters the most even if you are a pawn, a queen, or a check. They spent their school life like they were playing a chess game and made their moves utilizing their mind, experience, success and joy. Now, they are ready for a new game at high school. We wish our students, who have grown up before our eyes, a successful and happy HS life.
