MAKING OUR OWN DETERGENTS 01.06.2021

Grade 5 students looked at the “effects of water pollution on human health” in line with their Science unit “Human and Environment”. They discussed how our need for hygiene increased due to the pandemic and how this led to the excessive use of water, looked at the effects of detergents, shampoos and soaps on human and nature, and sought solutions to those problems. Then, they chose on of the examples from their assignment, which was given to make home-made, biodegradable detergents to avoid water pollution and chemical contaminants, and made their own soaps and detergents at home. Their work was assessed according to the MYP Criterion D. We hope that the products created by our students will serve as a model for everyone.
