KNIT FOR HOPE 04.05.2021

Our Grade 12 student Melodi Inceboz carried out a social responsibility project, which served as a useful example of social collaboration. As part of Melodi’s project “Knit for Hope”, women over the age of 65, who had to stay home due to Covid-19 curfew, knit for nurses, who probably have suffered the most from the pandemic. This project eased the worries and despair of women over the age of 65, who were staying at home trying to protect themselves from the virus and feeling depressed because of the restrictions to their freedom, and helped them have a purpose and hope. Also, it served as a source of happiness for nurses, who shouldered the burden of the pandemic. Melodi took the products knit by women from Manisa to the nurses working at Bakircay University Cigli Training and Research Hospital and Izmir Turkan Ozilhan Bornova State Hospital. Congratulations to Melodi, who enhanced the sense of social unity and encouraged productivity by easing the feelings of loneliness and anxiety triggered by the pandemic with her project “Knit for Hope”. We are proud of our children’s sensitivity!
