ENTHRALLED VISITORS WITH THEIR “SURREAL” ART EXHIBITION 14.04.2017

IEK students have gained appreciation from the visitors for their art exhibition opened at Yaşar University.

The theme of this year’s art exhibition, which is organised by IEK students every year with a specific theme, was “Surreal”.

The art exhibition consisted of the paintings, designs and ceramic products created by the students from all grade levels of Işıkkent, in line with the theme “surreal”. Also, the artwork created with the recycled waste materials can be seen in the exhibition. As well as including more than 1000 artifacts created by students, the exhibition provides the visitors with the opportunity to perceive different interpretations of “surreal” by the students from different age groups.

By internalising a holistic approach which lets Işıkkent develop individuals as a whole person, the school helps students gain various experiences and emphasises the importance of arts at every opportunity through these kind of events.

After stating that the “Yearend Art Exhibition” will be open until April 21st, Canan Harmancı, the Head of School said: “With the aim of raising students who have internalised national and international values, we believe in trying without fear of failure and encouraging creativity. Therefore, we organise our yearend art exhibition that includes the work of each IEK student every year under the guidance of our visual arts department. We heartily thank all of our students who contributed to this exhibition and we believe that our children will make the world a better place through their work in science, arts and sports”.

The art exhibition “Surreal” can be visited at Yaşar University Bornova Campus until April 21st.
