EFE ÇALIK IS IN THE BCC MATHS HONOUR LIST 22.11.2016

11 of our Grade 9 & 10 students took “The Beaver Computing Challenge (BCC)” exam held on Tuesday, November 7th, 2016 at the University of Waterloo, Canada, after having been chosen in the preselection exam.

5.989 students from all over the world took this exam and the world average has been announced as 57,65 out of 90. Our Grade 10 student Efe Çalık scored 86 as the highest in the school and has been recorded in the “Honour List” with his success according to the world ranking. 6 of our students have also been very successful by scoring higher than the world average and succeeded in this challenging exam.

This international exam is held online and is based on solving real life maths problems by making calculations and thinking logically. The exam, in which 15 multiple choice questions are answered within 45 minutes, is assessed out of 90 points. Each student taking this globally accepted exam is given a “certificate of participation” and the students scoring in the first 25th percentage of the world are given “certificate of merit” by the University of Waterloo.
