20 Years Full of Enthusiasm For Education...Having been a principled and student-centered school that internalizes national and global values, Işıkkent School is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
We have worked very hard for 20 years to be a model for the Turkish Education System and to inspire educators and all stakeholders in education sector. We have become the one & only school in the Aegean Region and the 7th school in Turkey to implement IB programmes from preschool to the end of high school.
We have felt the joy of seeing that our values and efforts made a difference in our children’s future for the last 20 years.
We have strived, and will continue to strive, to raise our children as confident, responsible and reflective individuals who know how to inquire and communicate effectively, recognize global problems, and respect the similarities and differences between others.
Milestones of Our 20 Years
Sept. 1998
Our educational activities have begun with
Grade 1 and 2 students in Primary School.
2004-2005
Our Primary School
produced its first
graduates.
2005-2006
Işıkkent High School
classes began with Prep
and Grade 9 students.
Dec. 2008
Işıkkent ELC and Primary School
were accredited by the Council
of International Schools (CIS).
June 2009
Işıkkent High School produced
its first graduates.
May 2011
Işıkkent School was accredited
by the University of Cambridge
to implement Cambridge International
Examinations (CIE) programmes.
July 2011
Işıkkent High School was
accredited by the CIS.
2012-2013
High school dormitory was opened.
Oct. 2013
Işıkkent School was granted the 2013
International Prism Award by the
International Coach Federation (ICF).
2013-2014
Işıkkent ELC and Primary School
were authorized as the one and only
IB-PYP (Primary Years Programme)
School in the Aegean Region by
the International Baccalaureate
Organization (IBO).
May 2016
Işıkkent Middle School and High School
were accredited to implement the
IB-MYP (Middle Years Programme).
After this accreditation, Işıkkent Middle
School became the one and only MYP
School in the Aegean Region, and one
of the 10 MYP Schools in Turkey.
May 2018
Işıkkent High School was
accredited to implement the
IB-DP (Diploma Programme).
