WORLD PEACE DAY CELEBRATED MEANİNGFULLY WİTH VARİOUS ACTİVİTİES 21.09.2023

Our primary school students celebrated World Peace Day on September 21 with various activities in their classrooms and in the garden. They read the stories of peace symbols and learned songs about peace. They questioned what the concept of peace meant to them. They emphasized the importance of world peace in all their activities. Our 4th grade students played a game in the garden in line with "End Racism". In the game, they took their places with the instructions given by their teachers before starting the running race. In the instructions, they felt discrimination in society, such as those with green eyes should take 3 steps forward, those with darker skin should take 2 steps back, and those with foreign family members should take 1 step forward. When they competed on this, they talked about how unfair it was. They shared their experiences and feelings. They discussed how people who are discriminated against in society might feel. Then they tried the race once more, but this time with one difference. Everyone would start from the same line. After this experience, they shared their thoughts in a booklet in their classrooms.
