TIME CAPSULE OPENED AFTER 10 YEARS 10.06.2021

The time capsule, which had been created by a group of 11TM students in 2011 as part of their project “Quo Vadis” under the leadership of Denise Diana Noonan, the Head of the Foreign Languages Department, was taken out of the soil through a ceremony participated by our graduates. HS Principal Tufan Capar opened the ceremony by reading the message from Myriam Levi, our former school principal. Then, the teachers and administrators, who had witnessed those times, gave their speeches. Tutku Encu, one of our 2012 graduates, also expressed her feelings on behalf the 11TM of the Class of 2011. Finally, the time capsule was taken out of the soil, opened by graduates and other participants and read out loud together. This fun, exciting and emotional ceremony was broadcasted online on @iekalumni for graduates who were not able to attend. Witnessing the past and sharing the power of this meaningful link between past and present made us both emotional and powerful at the same time. We heartily thank all administrators and teachers, who have contributed to the culture and identity of our school, as well as all graduates and students, who have kept it alive!
