OUR 6TH GRADERS COMPLETED THEIR SERVICE–ACTION PROJECTS 28.11.2025

The 6th grade students of Işıkkent Middle School carried out an important service and action project aimed at strengthening their sense of social responsibility, raising awareness of living together with individuals who have different needs, and fostering empathy. For this project, a collaboration was established with Saadettin Tezcan Special Education Vocational School. As the first step, before the school visit, our students were informed by our Special Learning Specialist about the purpose and expected outcomes of the project, the student groups they would meet, their general characteristics, and appropriate ways to communicate with them. Students’ questions were also addressed during the session. Afterwards, our students visited Saadettin Tezcan Special Education Vocational School, where they came together with students with special needs and participated in various activities in three different workshops—spending productive, enjoyable, and deeply meaningful time together. One of the key stakeholders of the project, Karabağlar Youth Center, enriched the experience by providing significant support throughout the process, enhancing our students’ understanding of social participation and solidarity. All activities were planned and carried out under the leadership and coordination of the Işıkkent Physical Education Department. Through this meaningful collaboration, our students gained essential social and emotional skills while experiencing the value of creating together, sharing, and respecting differences. The project reinforced core values such as solidarity, empathy, cooperation, and contribution to society, becoming an inspiring experience for our entire school community.
