MEANINGFUL RECYCLING FROM OUR GSL PAPERMAKERS TEAM 02.05.2025

This year, as the GSL Papermakers team, our goal was to collect the paper waste used and discarded at our school and turn it into recycled paper. First, we placed paper waste boxes in high school classrooms for two months to collect raw materials for production. We then shredded the collected paper into small pieces and mixed it with a starch-based solution, which served as a binding agent. We poured the resulting pulp into molds and began the paper-making process. Later, we organized a workshop with 4th-grade primary school students, explaining the process and using the paper we had produced together. With the instruction “Design a park for your school using recyclable materials,” the students used their imagination to draw various park designs on the recycled paper.
