DOĞAN CÜCELOĞLU AND POLAT DOĞRU MET WITH PARENTS 13.05.2017

The guest speakers of the fourth and last session of “Towards Tomorrow Seminar Series” were Prof. Dr. Doğan Cüceloğlu and Polat Doğru. Psychologist and author Cüceloğlu opened the seminar, in which participants found meaningful solutions to their questions, with striking remarks: “The right question to ask is: Who am I and what do I want to be? Do you want to prepare your children for TEOG or for life? Do you want them to survive or get a job? Our awareness defines the border of our lives. If we do not respect individuals, they won’t turn out to be respectful. Sharing and catching the little moments attach meaning to our lives. Family is an environment in which we witness life. Share more with your children. Witness the moments which are important for them. Make them feel unique, valuable, loved, and trusted. Let them take risks and explore life before your very eyes. Let them develop their skills to live and survive. The most common mistake that parents do is to act like they know everything, which is interpreted as ‘I do not exist’ by the children. If you love your children, you will take care of them, learn about them, love them as they are and you will make an effort. Remember, you can develop your children only by developing yourselves. For this reason, read every day for at least 15 minutes. Your awareness is your real treasure. Encourage your children to do their best with joy and enthusiasm. Effort and enthusiasm are two essential components of true success. Focus on the process, not the product.” We would like to thank Prof. Dr. Doğan Cüceloğlu and Polat Doğru for enlightening us with their knowledge and experiences.
