FROM EXCAVATION TO DISCOVERY: GRADE 2 STUDENTS EXPLORE ARCHAEOLOGY 31.10.2025

As part of our “Where We Are in Place and Time” unit, our Grade 2 students sought answers to the questions “What is archaeology?” and “What does an archaeologist do?” before meeting our guest archaeologist. Later, during an engaging talk with archaeologist Yelda Zoral Yücebaş, they gained new insights into the world of archaeology. Ms. Yelda shared examples from excavations she had participated in, explaining how the excavation process unfolds and informing our students about archaeologists’ fields of work. Through this experience, our students deepened their understanding of archaeology and the role of archaeologists.
