THROUGH TIME IN IZMIR: 2ND GRADERS EXPLORE THE CITY’S HISTORY 06.11.2025

As part of the unit “Where We Are in Place and Time,” our 2nd-grade students welcomed Architect Gizem Yılmaz to learn about the history of İzmir. During the session, our guest architect explained how İzmir has transformed from past to present, and how these changes have influenced our surroundings and way of life. By comparing the past and the present, she helped students understand that our environment is in a constant state of change. Through this engaging activity, students had the opportunity to take a closer look at İzmir’s history and discover how learning about our city’s past helps us better understand the present we live in.
