LEARNING TO COMMUNICATE BEYOND WORDS WITH “MAKATON” 16.09.2025
Elementary School Grade 2 students were introduced to “Makaton”, a form of sign language that combines signs and speech to support communication. The session began with a silent demonstration to show that meaning can be shared without words, followed by learning and performing a song in sign. Students reflected on how signs can help people who find speaking difficult and discovered the importance of inclusive ways to communicate.
