OUR PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS BROUGHT THE HISTORY OF THE REPUBLIC TO THE STAGE ON APRIL 23 23.04.2026

As Özel Işıkkent Primary School, we celebrated the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day with a meaningful and enthusiastic ceremony in which our students took an active role. In our program, where we emphasized that April 23 is not only a celebration but also the proclamation of national sovereignty, our students reenacted the journey of independence—from Samsun to Amasya, Erzurum, Sivas, and Ankara—through folk dances and stage performances. They brought to life the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and the principle “Sovereignty unconditionally belongs to the nation” through choral presentations, while sharing pivotal historical moments such as the Battle of Sakarya and the liberation of İzmir with the audience through an emotional narrative. Continuing with the proclamation of the Republic, our students highlighted the vision of modernization by portraying advancements in education, healthcare, industry, and culture. They introduced inspiring figures from various fields, delivering the message that heroism is possible in every aspect of life. We thank all our students for this meaningful ceremony program and once again celebrate their April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day.
