OUR FIRST PIAZZA PROJECT – TRACES OF NATURE: FROM LEAVES TO FABRIC 20.10.2026

Our journey of discovery began with the children’s curiosity about leaves. Together, we examined leaves collected from nature, observing their shapes, colours, textures and distinctive features. Following these explorations, we decided to use the leaves to create something together. Guided by the question, “Can leaves leave marks on fabric without using paint?”, we made predictions, experimented and transferred the leaves’ natural imprints onto fabric using the eco-printing technique. We brought together the fabrics created with the children’s active participation to make curtains for the coat rack area in our Piazza. In this way, a learning journey sparked by the children’s curiosity became a shared creation used in our everyday school life. Throughout the process, we supported the children in observing closely, noticing differences, generating ideas and expressing their discoveries. We also offered opportunities for them to deepen their connection with nature and explore how natural materials can be transformed.
