OUR 2ND GRADE STUDENTS VISITED NECDET BÜKEY FARM 10.03.2026

As 2nd grade students, we visited Necdet Bükey Farm as part of our “Nature and Environment” unit in order to observe the relationship between humans, nature, and sustainability on site. While learning how production in harmony with nature takes place, we enjoyed a meaningful and educational day. During the farm visit, we learned about the importance of heirloom seeds. We discovered how preserving natural and local seeds plays a crucial role in sustainable agriculture and healthy food production. We also explored the organic farming methods used on the farm and learned ways of producing food without harming nature. We had the opportunity to closely observe the chickens, goats, cows, and other farm animals living on the farm. We learned about their natural habitats, feeding habits, and roles within the farm, which helped us develop a stronger sense of responsibility toward nature and living beings. Through this visit, we gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between humans and nature, as well as the role of sustainable living in protecting the environment. This experience in close connection with nature supported both our learning and our growth as environmentally conscious individuals.
