GRADE 7 STUDENTS DEBATE "FREEDOM OF THE PRESS" 14.10.2026

As part of their Social Studies course, our Grade 7 students explored freedom of the press and censorship from different perspectives during a classroom debate. Addressing the question, “Should the press be completely free, or should published content be subject to certain regulatory mechanisms?”, students presented and defended their arguments while discussing freedom of expression, the right to access information, and the media’s responsibility to society. Throughout the activity, students had the opportunity to develop their research, critical thinking, effective communication, and respect for differing opinions. The debate provided a valuable learning experience, encouraging them to reflect on the role of the media in democratic societies.
