FROM THE RED CARPET TO THE READING CIRCLE: LIBRARY WEEK AT ELC 08.04.2026

Library Week at ELC, was filled with enjoyable activities that increased our students’ interest in books and supported reading culture. Throughout the week, the stories voiced by our teachers were listened to during circle time, supporting our students’ attention and prediction skills. Our students, who guessed which teacher read the story they listened to, experienced a fun surprise by learning the results at the end of the week. At the same time, primary school students coming to preschool classrooms to read stories contributed to building a strong learning bond between different age groups. On the first day of the week, with the “Book Characters Come Alive” activity, our students came to school in costumes of their favorite book characters and walked on the red carpet. This event, which was the scene of colorful and creative moments, ensured an energetic start to the week. Later, in the “My Book Recommendation” activity we carried out, our students had the opportunity to share their favorite books with their friends. The recommendations displayed at the school entrance attracted the attention of all students and enabled the exchange of ideas about books. In the organized shared reading activity, our students came together in open areas or common spaces and experienced the joy of reading together. This activity once again revealed the unifying power of books. Thanks to all the activities carried out during Library Week, our students established a stronger bond with books and discovered that reading is an enjoyable and shareable experience.
