FIELDWORK EXPERIENCE IN IBDP ESS AND BIOLOGY CLASSES 20.04.2026

As part of our IBDP ESS and Biology courses, our students took learning beyond the classroom through a meaningful fieldwork experience. Conducted in the Yakaköy region of İzmir, known for its rich natural environment, this trip significantly contributed to reinforcing theoretical knowledge through hands-on practice. Throughout the trip, our students conducted water quality analyses, examining the impact of environmental factors on ecosystems. Within the scope of biodiversity studies, they also had the opportunity to observe and identify various species. By observing ecological succession processes on-site, students gained a deeper understanding of the dynamic nature of ecosystems. Through these outdoor activities, our students developed their skills in scientific observation, data collection, and analysis, while also increasing their awareness of environmental responsibility and sustainability. This productive and discovery-filled fieldwork experience not only supported our students’ academic development but also made learning more engaging and lasting.
