SEMINAR: HOW TO UNDERSTAND & HANDLE TEENAGERS 05.03.2020

We will be hosting Psychologist Asst. Prof. Dr. Nevin Dolek in the last session of this year’s “Seminars Towards Tomorrow”. Ms. Dolek, who practices family and couple therapy as a clinical psychologist and works as a part-time university faculty member, will help us understand adolescence and teach us how to communicate with teenagers more effectively. We will discuss “How to Understand and Handle Teenagers” during the seminar to be held on Saturday, March 21. What we call “adolescence” is a stressful and complicated stage both for teenagers, who need to get through it, and for people, who have to raise and teach teenagers. Getting to know teenagers and understanding the reasons of their behaviour will make it easier for us to communicate with them, help us become more supportive and allow us to develop warm and open relationships with them. This seminar will provide parents with an opportunity to get to know and understand their kids better and communicate with them in a more effective way. It will also point out the nature of authority, the importance of self-discipline, the notions of judgment and responsibility while providing information about bullying and how to prevent it. We hope to have a useful and productive seminar with Dr. Nevin Dolek which will expand the horizons of our parents and educators.
