A LIVING LEGACY FROM HIGH SCHOOL PREP STUDENTS TO KINDERGARTENERS: HEIRLOOM SEEDS & SUSTAINABILITY 15.01.2026

Işıkkent Anatolian High School preparatory class students organized a meaningful activity titled “From Seed to Seedling” to instill environmental awareness at an early age. During the event, prep students introduced kindergarteners to heirloom seeds, seed sustainability, and the importance of natural farming, followed by a hands-on planting activity. As part of the event, high school students explained—through age-appropriate and engaging language—the role of heirloom seeds passed down through generations, their contribution to biodiversity, and their value for sustainable agriculture. The young learners, in turn, experienced the joy of planting heirloom seeds and connecting with the soil. Through this meaningful experience, kindergarten students developed a bond with nature, gained awareness of environmental protection, and were introduced to the concept of sustainability. High school students strengthened their sense of social responsibility while experiencing the joy of leaving an important spiritual legacy for their younger peers.
