A JOURNEY FROM PLAY TO ACTION 28.01.2026

As part of the “How We Express Ourselves” theme, during our inquiry unit with ELC 1 students, we explored play as a natural way to express ourselves and communicate with others. As the Lotus Class, we focused on becoming communicators who are respectful and caring while playing; practicing taking turns, following rules, and cooperating with one another. While playing, we learned to express our feelings and needs with confidence, to think before acting, and to listen to our friends with an open mind. We discovered that games help us understand one another better and allow play to continue in a positive and enjoyable way. Throughout this process, we developed our social, communication, and self-management skills through play. Building on what we learned, we turned our awareness into action. By designing “Play Posters” and “Play Brochures,” we shared the importance of rules, sharing, and playing together. We presented our work in the Piazza area, sharing our learning with all ELC friends and making our learning visible to the school community.
