VISIT TO EGE UNIVERSITY BOTANICAL GARDEN AND HERBARIUM AS PART OF THE BIOLOGY CURRICULUM 20.05.2026

Grade 9 students participated in an educational field trip to the Ege University Botanical Garden and Herbarium Research and Application Center as part of the Biology curriculum unit on “The Three-Domain System of Classification and Plants.” Planned in line with our school's philosophy of learning through experience and active participation, the purpose of this academic visit was to help students connect their theoretical knowledge with real-world scientific environments. During the visit, students had the opportunity to observe firsthand the structural characteristics of seed and non-seed plants, classification systems, and the operation of a herbarium. By examining how classroom learning is reflected in nature and scientific archives, students strengthened their scientific observation and research skills while gaining a deeper understanding of plant biodiversity and classification.
