OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE DÜŞÜN-YAZ PHILOSOPHICAL ESSAY COMPETITION 08.06.2026

Our students proudly represented Işıkkent Anatolian High School in the 12th Düşün-Yaz Philosophical Essay Competition. In the first stage of this national philosophy competition organized by the Philosophers’ Association, our students Tuana Aydın, Ezgi Dere, Elif Naz Polat, Yağmur Güven, and Irmak Kılıç successfully represented our school. Thanks to their outstanding performance, Yağmur Güven and Elif Naz Polat earned two of the top 25 rankings nationwide, bringing great pride to our school community. We congratulate our students on this remarkable achievement and wish Yağmur Güven and Elif Naz Polat continued success in the final stage of the competition, which will be held at İzmir American Collegiate Institute on June 13. The Düşün-Yaz Philosophical Essay Competition aims to encourage high school students to engage with fundamental philosophical questions, develop their reading, comprehension, and interpretation skills, think critically and coherently, support their ideas with reasoned arguments, express themselves through philosophical writing, and use philosophy as a tool for understanding and making sense of life.
