ÖNER AKGERMAN’S LEGACY LIVES ON AT THE IŞIKKENT ART CENTER 07.05.2026

During the opening of our year-end exhibition, we proudly named our Art Center after our late founding elder, Mr. Öner Akgerman, whose vision, dedication to education, and lasting contributions have left a profound mark on our campus and throughout our school’s long-established history. Mr. Akgerman, who recently passed away, was once again remembered with deep respect and gratitude during this meaningful ceremony for his belief in education, forward-thinking vision, and the invaluable legacy he brought to Işıkkent Eğitim Kampüsü. At the ceremony, attended by the entire Işıkkent community, Taha Aksoy, Chairman of the Board of ÇESVAK, and Bülent Akgerman, Vice Chairman of the Board, reflected on the cultural and academic legacy built by Öner Akgerman. They emphasized that he was not only a founding figure, but also an inspiring advocate for education. By giving his name to this special space — one that symbolizes the unifying and transformative power of art — Mr. Akgerman’s legacy will continue to live on at Işıkkent.
