“HOPE FOR THE FUTURE” 08.06.2026

Our ELC3 students, as part of their long-term "Hope for the Future" unit, conducted a field trip to Bayraklı beach to connect what they had learned in real life. During this trip, organized within the scope of the "Actions to Protect the Seas" inquiry line, our students had the opportunity to observe Izmir bay and the surrounding natural life first-hand. Throughout the trip, our students examined the natural structure of the bay, observed the living creatures in the area, and reflected on the effects of human activities on the environment. After their observations along the bay, our students gathered under the shade of a tree and filled out their pre-prepared "What I Saw and What I noticed at the Bay" observation forms, recording the details that caught their attention. This trip, supported by real-life experiences, increased our students' awareness of the bay ecosystem, and contributed to their development of environmental sensitivity, and helped them think about the steps that can be taken for a sustainable future.
