NSPIRATION FROM A WORLD TRAVELER: CULTURAL HERITAGE TALK WITH STUDENTS 28.11.2025

As part of our “Where We Are in Place and Time” unit in 2nd and 4th grades, we explored the central idea: “The cultural heritage of communities shapes our present along with the environment and events.” We invited Nihal Ege, known for her work on preserving cultural heritage, to our school. Our students learned from this world traveler what cultural heritage means and what the UNESCO World Heritage List represents. They also discovered the responsibilities we all share in protecting our cultural heritage. Students had the chance to ask Nihal Ege the questions they were curious about and gained a deeper understanding of the value of learning from those who lived before us. The insights shared by our guest enriched the learning we had been developing throughout the unit.
